Life: What are we watching?

So first reasons why I’ve been a little preoccupied these past few weeks.  There’s a contest going on right now you see.  The prize is a chance to visit the set of Supernatural.

I’m what you would call a slight fan of the show.  By slight fan I mean I’ve spent way too much of my life watching Supernatural, talking about Supernatural, and writing about Supernatural.  I made some great friends because of our shared interest in the show and I introduced a lot of my other friends to this show who hadn’t seen it.

So the past three weeks have been  spent posting the multiple daily challenges to my twitter and my Instagram.  Silly little challenges such as having to make the Sam Winchester patented “Puppy Eyes” or recreating the shows signature Dramatic Zoom.  I feel bad for people who follow on my on any of those social medias as I’ve been spamming it to no end.  Yet, it’s with the help and the support of all of my family and friends that I’ve been able to make it to the Top 10.  With only 2 weeks left, I’m trying to make my final push to the number one spot.

Anyway,

Here’s that quick overview of what I’ve been watching lately…

CRIMINAL MINDSCriminal Minds:
I’ve always caught the odd episode here and there, but never watched them in order.  I marathoned the episodes like crazy and made it to the beginning of Season 9 in like 2.5 weeks.  I’m taking a small break from the show right now before I overdo it.  I might have also develop a small celebrity crush on Matthew Gray Gubler… so yeah.  By the way, have y’all watched Suburban Gothic (starring Gubler)? It’s so funny and unusual with its bright colors and almost surreal scenery.  Plus, Matthew Gray Gubler in short shorts and an ascot are reasons enough to watch.

You’re the Worst: I’YOURE THE WORSTm told Season 2 actually begins tonight.  I ate this show up in like a day and a half.  It’s funny.  It’s weird.  It’s perfect.  Two people who are actually the worst but somehow work pretty well together.  I am here for it.

Doctor Who (season 8):  I know. I know.  I am the worst Who fan ever.  I just now watched last seasonDOCTOR WHO and mostly because I realized that Season 9 was about to begin.  It was pretty good.  Judge me all you want, but I’m still getting used to Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor.  Call me all the names in the book,  but I really enjoyed Matt Smith’s portrayal of the Eleventh Doctor.  Still, I didn’t like Matt Smith right out of the gate and I know I just need to give it a little bit more time.

From Dusk till Dawn:  My new favorite show.  I finished seasFROM DUSK TILL DAWNon one in a single day and now I’m calling everyone I know trying to find out if they have The El Rey network so I can watch season 2.  I’ve never seen the movie and as far as I knew it was about vampires.  It’s not quite vampires.  Two bank robbing brothers find themselves in the middle of supernatural shit. Fair warning if you have a fear of snakes this one might not be the one for you.  To be honest, I’m not overly fond of snakes as I have had reoccuring dreams of snake attacks for a few years now.  Yet, this show was so good that I forced myself to shake it off with a few shivers down my spine and then I watched a few episodes of fluffier shows before I went to bed.   Two brothers out on the road, ambiguous morals, and supernatural creatures.  Yeah, how could I possibly fall in love right?

BLACK MIRRORBlack Mirror:  This show has a total of 6 episodes over 2 seasons and yet for some reason I have been putting it off.  Black Mirror is an anthology show featuring storylines which ask us to examine ourselves and our relationships with people and with technology.  Everything is just so well done and the writing is amazing.

I’m not sure what’s next for me on the To Watch list.  There’s still plenty left on my TV Show whiteboard and I’m always open to new suggestions.  Can feel it in the air though? It’s time for all the fall shows to return from hiatus and I just have to make sure that I’m ready for them.
